¡Solo 5 días! Y aunque el árbol de Navidad lleva puesto desde el día 8 de Diciembre (como es tradición), no podía enseñároslo hasta hoy porque no estaba terminado. La idea de decorar el árbol con flores secas la cogí de uno de los videos de Sylvia Salas. Sigo su canal Dare to Diy desde hace años y esta propuesta me pareció preciosa. No he podido enseñároslo hasta ahora porque en la floristería me recomendaron que no comprara con mucha antelación la paniculata, ya que al ser fresca con los días cambiará de color a marrón. Por eso este año me he hecho tanto de rogar hasta enseñaros el árbol.
Si visteis mi último post, podréis comprobar que he utilizado los mismos árboles de madera de los servilleteros para hacer unos adornos. Estos también llevan las iniciales, pero en este caso en recuerdo de los que ya no están.

Only 5 days! Although the Christmas tree has been up since the 8th of December (as is tradition), I couldn't show it to you until today because it wasn't finished. I got the idea of decorating the tree with dried flowers from one of Sylvia Salas' videos. I've been following her channel (Dare to Diy) for years and I found this proposal beautiful. I haven't been able to show it to you until now because the florist recommended me not to buy paniculata too far in advance, as it is fresh and will change colour to brown over the days. That's why this year I've been so late to show you the tree.
If you saw my last post, you can see that I used the same wooden trees from the napkin rings to make some ornaments. These also have the initials on them, but in this case in memory of those who are no longer here.
HOW DO YOU GUYS DO YOUR CHRISTMAS PREPARATIONS? DO YOU LIKE TREES DECORATED WITH NATURAL FLOWERS? ARE YOUR TREES SIMPLE OR VERY COLOURFUL?
Cada vez va quedando menos para Navidad y este año la celebración toca en casa. Me apetecía hacer algo especial, personalizado y diferente y cuando una amiga me enseñó los maravillosos servilleteros con las iniciales de cada comensal que había hecho, decidí que yo tenía que hacer mi propia versión. Es una versión low cost y para la que no he tenido que invertir mucho tiempo, pero creo que el resultado final ha quedado bien, siendo el detalle lo que importa.
Lo único que he comprado han sido los arbolitos de madera, el resto de elementos los tenía en casa. Solo he tenido que pintar la base y al secar, cada inicial, añadir una ramita de abeto, un poco de cuerda y ¡voilá!
Los árboles grandes son para los mayores y los pequeños para los más peques de la casa.

Christmas is getting closer and closer and this year the celebration is at home. I wanted to do something special, personalised and different and when a friend showed me the wonderful napkin rings with the initials of each guest that she had made, I decided that I had to make my own version. It's a low cost version and I didn't have to invest a lot of time in it, but I think the end result looks good, and it's the detail that matters.
The only thing I bought were the wooden trees, I had the rest of the elements at home. I only had to paint the base and when dry, each initial, add a sprig of fir, a bit of string and voila!
The big trees are for the grown-ups and the small ones for the little ones in the house.
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE RESULT?
¡Cómo pasan los días de rápido! Ya solo faltan 15 para Navidad y todos los preparativos están en marcha.
Tenía ganas de enseñaros mi centro de adviento de este año. Para los que no conozcáis esta tradición, los centros de adviento se componen de 4 velas, que representan las 4 semanas antes de Navidad, encendiéndose una vela cada domingo de adviento. Es muy bonito ver como se van encendiendo con el paso de los días, hace el ambiente mucho más acogedor. Además sientes que se van acercando esos días señalados y es algo que agradecemos mucho los que tenemos gente viviendo fuera que vuelven a casa por Navidad.

How quickly the days go by! Christmas is only 15 days away and all the preparations are underway.
I wanted to show you my advent centrepiece for this year. For those of you who don't know this tradition, advent centres are made up of 4 candles, which represent the 4 weeks before Christmas, lighting a candle every Sunday of advent. It is very nice to see how they light up as the days go by, it makes the atmosphere much more cosy. You also feel that those special days are getting closer and it is something that those of us who have people living abroad who come home for Christmas are very grateful for.
